Today’s episode is from a live conversation I held on Instagram for International Women’s Day with Kemi Nekvapil. Kemi is one of Australia’s leading coaches for female entrepreneurs, an author and an incredible international speaker. Her mission is to help women to own their worth, find their power, and use their voices.
Kemi discusses her book ‘Power: A woman’s guide to living and leading without apology’. We all have power and Kemi breaks it down into her 5 key principles; Presence, Ownership, Wisdom, Equality and Responsibility.
The theme for International Women’s Day is ‘Break the Bias’ but we also have to break the bias in our own heads. Don’t wait for others to give you permission. Use the opportunity to be present in your life, take ownership over your path, sit with wisdom, know that you are equal to everyone in the room, and be responsible for your own privilege.
Kemi Nakvapil shares her personal stories openly to illustrate her principles and how they have impacted her life. She is truly inspiring to listen to and I’m so grateful to be bringing you this incredibly important conversation.
To take ownership of your power, grab a copy of her book today!

[9:53]: When we become present, we can breathe.
[11:29]: Be present to your needs. As women, we’re trained to be present to others but we have to be present to our own needs.
[12:16]: Have agency – don’t let others define you or determine the course of your journey.

[16:31]: When we wait for permission from others, we miss the opportunity to give permission to ourselves.
