Evolving from brand photographer to online program owner with Prue Aja
Creating and launching an online program is such an exciting, fun and challenging journey. It takes bravery to make the leap and send your knowledge and experience out into the world to benefit others.
In this episode, I’m chatting with the remarkable Prue Aja. Prue is one of Australia’s most in-demand portrait and branding photographers and has followed her passion for mentoring to create her very own Business Academy – The Go To Photographer.
Prue is one of my students in The Modern Marketing Collective and in Scalable. We discuss her experience and everything she has learned from her journey evolving from a brand photographer to an online program owner.
Prue shares openly about her thought process and hesitation before launching her online program, the challenges and obstacles she overcame, the exact method she used to launch and how she now spends her time in her online business.
You’ll find so many nuggets of wisdom listening to Prue’s story, I’m so grateful to have her on the show today to share with you.
Enjoy!

[6:43]: Prue talks about her drive to develop her own online business course.
[7:56]: Fear held Prue back in the beginning and struggled to find the time to design and create her course.
[9:11]: Prue opened up her course to select photographers (approx 10) at a discounted rate in the beginning in exchange for them giving her honest feedback.
[10:52]: Providing her knowledge to others and realising she had so much to share gave Prue confidence that her program was very valuable for photographers growing their business.
[11:35]: The first round is 6 large modules over 12 weeks (one module every 2 weeks) with masterclasses included.
[14:37]: Creating an online program has changed Prue’s business by allowing her mind to grow and expand in new ways.

[19:55]: Creating an online program earlier in Prue’s career would have been challenging as she didn’t feel as though she had the confidence in her knowledge and career.
[21:24]: Prue has been a member of the Modern Marketing Collective since I started the course.
[22:06]: Prue has gone from selling her time for money to empowering and sharing her knowledge with others. She has space and time to do the marketing and creating content.

[24:53]: Prue aims to develop a higher level group coaching program.
[26:58]: Prue Aja is the umbrella brand and the Go To Photographer is under that brand. It took some time to work out how her business structure would work.
