Tapping into your Soul Modes to find more flow with Carlie Maree
Do you ever feel a bit all over the place? Are you struggling to stick to one routine? Maybe you feel the need to sleep in some days and other days you’re up with the birds wanting to take on the world. My bet is that most women can relate and this episode could help explain why and what to do about it.
My guest today is Carlie Maree, a best selling author, thought leader, and master of motivational intelligence. Through her online programs and private coaching, Carlie supports women to harness the powerful energies that reside within them and understand just how magic they are. Carlie has a deep understanding of how women work, what motivates them, what drives them and what can hold them back.
In this episode, we discuss Carlie’s book, Soul Modes, which I had the pleasure of reading recently. I can honestly say that every woman (and man) should read this book! Carlie’s teaching sheds a beautiful light on the way we operate and how we can do life in a way that honours our natural flow.
We dive into the four different modes, the purpose of each of them, and the power of tapping into them specifically when it comes to business. Carlie talks about embracing the flow of these different modes in our day to day lives, rather than forcing through resistance. You’re going to get so much out of this conversation and make sure you grab a copy of the book.
Topics we discussed:
[3:00]: Carlie talks about what soul modes are and how they are energetic states that explain our motivational rollercoaster. There are 4 modes and we all move through them at a different pace.
[5:30]: Carlie explains the 4 modes: Wild, Bear, Super & Sparkle and how she was able to fall in love with those aspects of herself.
[8:00]: Wild mode is there to move us forward and clear out anything that isn’t serving us. In this mode, we’ll often make bold decisions but we’ve often been taught to shut her down.
[9:45]: Emily and Carlie love Bear mode, which is when you take care of your energy and connect and see what’s happening in our subconscious. A lot of us aren’t good at embracing what needs to happen here.
[12:30]: Emily talks about how she feels like she has created her business and schedule around bear mode. At this time she feels the need to journal and look at things. Some people try to force through this but you need to recognise and embrace the mode you’re in.
[14:20]: How routine, consistency and rigidity are very masculine and squashes feminine energy. The masculine approach to life is exhausting for someone who is feminine in their core.
[16:20]: Super mode will bring structure. In this mode we struggle to be empathetic and patient.
[17:50]: A lot of women feel that they should be more consistent and structured. A lot of what we’ve been taught in the personal development space is very masculine.
[19:25]: Sparkle mode is the shift where you come out of your head and into your heart and body. It’s being present and grateful and wanting to connect.
[21:30]: Carlie tends to cycle through all the modes in a day and others will go a day or two depending on how responsive they are to what their soul wants to do.
[22:55]: Ask yourself what you’re yearning for and what it will give you. Wild mode we seek freedom, and that will look different for each person.
[23:50]: In bear mode we seek stillness, in super mode we productivity, in sparkle mode we want connection or presence.
[24:45]: A beautiful practise is to ask yourself what you want in each moment to feel your cup filled up.
[26:00]: The soul mode is a motivation cycle. Carlie talks about how she wrote her books in the different modes by working with her energy.
[27:40]: Let the wild woman be the CEO of your business. If you let super be the CEO, you end up with systems and processes but you don’t reach anybody.
[28:20]: Wild woman will make the decisions that will make the biggest impact on your life but all the parts have to get onboard. Trust your wild woman, even though we’re taught not to trust her.
[30:00]: If you have a lot of limiting beliefs come up, be with that and know that you will come back to wild mode. This also helps with sales so you can be nurturing to other people’s cycles.
[32:15]: Super mode wants certainty and accountability. Bring your true energy into everything you do and people will feel it.
[34:20]: Understanding this helps you be non-judgemental of yourself and each other. The same as seasons,
