Creating the #buyfromthebush campaign with Grace Brennan
You may not recognise the name of our guest today, but chances are you have heard of #buyfromthebush. It is arguably one of the most successful marketing campaigns here in Australia in recent times. And in today’s episode, I want you to get to know the smart, humble, hard-working, and very inspiring woman behind this campaign.
Grace Brennan lives on a sheep and cropping farm in Warren, NSW with her husband Jack and their four children. In October 2019 Grace founded the #buyfromthebush social media campaign to support rural communities facing drought. calling on people in the city to invest in bush business as a means of ensuring the survival of rural communities in the future.
In the first four months of the campaign, BFTB generated $5,000,000 in revenue for businesses featured on its Instagram feed, with 21% of businesses hiring new staff and 19% commencing shipping internationally.
Grace has since been named by the Sydney Morning Herald as one of the nine most influential women entrepreneurs for 2019 and invited by the Australia Day Council of NSW to give the Australia Day Address to the nation.
