I recently had a client ask me how they could market themself as an introvert.
As an Introvert myself I’ve faced this concern in the past but now know there really isn’t anything holding you back. So in today’s episode I’m going to talk about how introverts can market themselves, the strengths introverts have, and some tips to utilise them.
If you’re an introvert this episode is for you and if you don’t know where you sit on the introversion/extroversion scale I’ve got you covered. I will share how to lean into your introversion while you market yourself, how to take care of yourself and make work easier, and how I challenged these limiting beliefs myself.
[1:50]: A review of The Emily Osmond Show on Apple Podcasts and how reviews help the show.
[2:50]: Some differences between introverts and extroverts seen through their birthdays. Emily talks about how this resonates with her as an introvert, even back when she was a young child.
[4:00]: Introversion and Extroversion are not a dichotomy but rather a scale
[4:55]: Elements of Introversion that can be used to your advantage. Introverts prefer to gather their thoughts together before diving into something, this might translate into a real talent for writing captions.
[6:40]: Introverts need to avoid comparing themselves to other people. Measuring yourself against someone else, especially someone with a different personality type just won’t be productive.
[8:00]: Too much stimulation can be unhealthy for Introverts, creating distraction and loss of focus. It is important to take time away from devices for deep thinking and to refresh our batteries.
[10:00]: Connection over Perfection. Sometimes you need to stop overthinking something and just share it with the world.
[11.30] Emily shares her previously held belief that she wouldn’t be able to have an online program because she’s an introvert. She then talks about having that belief challenged and exceeding her expectations.
[13:20] Introverts are particularly suited for forging one on one and small group connections.
[15:15] Being an introvert is not a weakness when marketing yourself. Summarising the ways that you can utilise your introversion to benefit you and your business.
