Instagram Personality Type 1: Curator
Your Strengths: When we look at your Instagram feed, we see quality and consideration. You value accuracy and quality – and nothing less will do when it comes to what you share online. Others often wish they had your diligence and level of focus – but to you, the job’s not worth doing if it’s not done well. You have a great eye, and your feed reflects this.
You can often be found: Curating your feed in a planning app.
What to look out for: If we replaced the Instagram profile with another business’s, would you content work for them too? We need to make sure that what YOU are posting gives your audience an insight into your unique business and YOU as a person. Can we see you in your feed? And no, a professional image from time to time isn’t enough.
Your new motto: Connection over perfection.
Your Next Best Post: You’re going to really struggle with this, but trust me here. I want you to post a photo that you have taken yourself. Not a stock image, or a professional shot. Just a REAL photo that gives your audience an insight into you and your business, sharing something your audience don’t know about you or your business.
7 Day Challenge : Let your walls down and your audience in. Share more of you, your experience and let your audience connect with you. See how much FUN you can have through your posts and mess that feed up a little by sharing selfies and videos that aren’t so “perfect” – I dare you 😉
Your Strengths: You are naturally caring, a great listener, collaborator and a giver – in other words you’re an amazing cheerleader for others – not only on Instagram but offline too! Calm, patient, loyal and consistent, you love to share regular tips on your Instagram – making sure you leave everyone having received value from your content.
You can often be found: Writing heart-felt, encouraging comments on other people’s posts or as replies to their Stories.
What to look out for: Do your audience know what you do and how you can help them? Something tells me you don’t blow your own horn much, which is lovely and modest, but selling isn’t a dirty word – you need paying customers too! Top tip: Start weaving in some promotions of your biz!
Your new motto: “Sales” isn’t a dirty word.
Your Next Best Post: Share a “this is how you can work with me” post that details exactly what you offer, who it’s perfect for and how people can pay you for this. Yes, seriously! It’s time to receive.
7 Day Challenge: At the end of every post or Story that you share in the next 7 days, i want you to include details about how your audience can work with you.
Your Strengths: No matter how many followers you have, you are naturally an influencer. Your superpower is your ability to build strong connections with your audience AND with other people. Your audience love to hear your thoughts, opinions and experiences – and sharing these come easily to you. Keep doing this – you don’t know how many people are watching and being inspired by you being YOU.
You can often be found: Connecting with new people on Instagram, expanding your network.
What to look out for: Don’t fall into the trap of thinking more followers automatically unlocks more success. You are enough just as you are and the power of your current audience to grow your business might surprise you. Focus on loving them and building that trust, and they will become your ambassadors to help your audience to grow.
Your new motto: Quality over quantity.
Your Next Best Post: Put yourself in your ideal customer’s shoes and tell a story about how you were once in their shoes, struggling with what you know they might be now.
7 Day Challenge: Strengthen your existing relationships by choosing three of your most active followers each day and go and giving them love and encouragement on their content.
Your Strengths: You go-getter, you! You move fast, take action and get the job done. A new Instagram update to tackle? No worries! They don’t throw you – you love a challenge! Your audience can always rely on you to show up and shoot sharp, and others often wish they had your confidence and ability to stop overthinking and just DO IT.
You can often be found: Scheduling your posts ahead of time, batching the caption writing. Or you may even outsource someone to do this for you.
What to look out for: While being organised with your content is great, you need to make sure you find the balance between sharing posts to tick a box, versus posting with purpose to create a deeper connection with your audience.
Your new motto: Post with purpose.
Your Best Next Post: Introduce yourself to your audience so they really know YOU – not just what you do. Write a post describing why you started your business and why you care so much about your work and share a selfie of you as the image.
Your 7 Day Challenge: For the next 7 days, I want you to spend 10 minutes interacting with your audience. How much can you learn about THEM? Focus on building relationships on Instagram. The results you want will follow.
