Many of the business owners I mentor have at one point or another felt as though they are going around in circles… not getting any closer to where they want to be.
Perhaps you have felt the same?
Trying the same things, second guessing themselves, and feeling more and more confused and stuck.
When overwhelm strikes, we need a circuit breaker.
And the best type of circuit breaker is often a bold new step.
Here’s the process that I personally go through when it comes to getting traction in my business – and making big progress:
1. Identify the goal
What do you want? Or in other words, what is it that your business needs right now? Is it more sales for your online course? More clients? More reach and exposure?
Progress comes from clarity on what we are trying to achieve. So pick a goal!
2. Brainstorm ideas
Now is the time to get all of your ideas out of your head. What have you tried in the past that worked well? What has been recommended to you but you haven’t yet implemented? Or what ideas have you had that for different reasons you just haven’t actioned yet?
List them all down, without judgement.
3. Choose the needle mover
There are the tasks that we do in our business ongoing – like sending our newsletters to our email list, posting on social media, creating blog posts…
Then there are the needle movers: the things that we do to outside of the everyday tasks that really give our business a boost, be it in reach, leads or sales.
Come back to the big goal that you picked, and now choose ONE idea from those that you listed that you believe will make the biggest difference to your goal.
Pick the needle mover, commit to it, and see it through. And that is how you move out of a rut and bring back the momentum to your business.
